Sarah Campbell graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana with a degree in dietetics in 1998. She completed her nutrition internship at St. Luke’s Hospital-Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, FL later that year. After several years in clinical nutrition, Sarah attended physician assistant school at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN where she earned her Master’s in Medical Science in 2003. Before joining University Surgeons Associates in 2015, she had been working in endocrinology for the previous 10 years. She had also worked in pediatric gastroenterology and urgent care in the past.
Sarah has previously been appointed to teaching positions at the University of Illinois, Florida State University, and South College Knoxville. She has also held leadership positions for the American Diabetes Association Champaign County (Illinios) Chapter, Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Society of Endocrine Physician Assistants.
Sarah grew up in a small town in Central Illinois. She met her spouse while living in Florida in 1999. They were married in 2001, and they returned to his hometown, Knoxville, in 2002. They have two daughters born in 2012 and 2014. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys fitness (running, biking, yoga), home improvement projects, gardening, and outdoor activities with her family.
