Dr. Mariah Alexander Beasley is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2002. She completed medical school at the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine in 2007 and completed her residency in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville in 2012.
Following residency, Dr. Beasley joined the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas for an advanced fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatrics. Through this fellowship training, she gained a broad experience in laparoscopic foregut, colorectal, hernia, and bariatric surgery. She also received training using the DaVinci Robot in foregut and endocrine surgery. In addition to her surgical training, she coauthored two book chapters on laparoscopic hernia repair, participated in research on robotic simulation, and taught resident courses in the Simulation Center.
Dr. Beasley joined the faculty at University of Tennessee as Assistant Professor in 2013. With regards to her clinical practice, Dr. Beasley's surgical focus includes minimally invasive techniques in general, endocrine and bariatric surgery.
